Sail Away Your Doubts

Frequently Asked Questions

use code: aqua2025

Are you licensed and insured to perform boat tours?

Yes of course! We are fully licensed through the Bahamas Port Department under commercial boat registration. We are also fully insured. If you or your company would like further proof before coming on board with us, please contact us directly and we’d be happy to provide documentation!

Can Pigs Swim?

Yes! Pigs are natural born swimmers. They swim very similarly to dogs!

Where can you swim with pigs?

We visit the Swimming Pigs at Big Major’s Cay in the Exuma Cays, near Staniel Cay, at Meek’s Patch, near Spanish Wells, Eleuthera and at Rose Island.

How Many pigs are on “Pig Island”?

The number of pigs on each ‘Pig Beach’ can vary from 5 or 6 to a dozen or more. Sometimes the pigs hide from the hot sun in the bushes, and sometimes they are eager to welcome our guests! New litters are born from time to time.

How do I get to your departure location at the Paradise Island ferry terminal from my hotel?

If you are staying at Atlantis you can take the hotel shuttle from any of their towers to the harbourside tower and then walk right across the road to us! If you are staying at Baha Mar or any other hotel you can take a taxi to us. We are approximately a 25 minute taxi ride from Baha Mar and 10 minutes from downtown Nassau. (Keep in mind to allow extra time for traffic). If you are traveling from Palm Cay or the eastern end of the island there is heavy traffic in the mornings that can make a 20 minute ride 40 minutes plus.

I am Visiting Nassau on a cruise. Do I have enough time to join the Swimming Pigs Excursion?

If you are arriving in Nassau on a Cruise Ship you may notice there aren't many group tours to the swimming pigs that work with your cruise ships arrival and departure times. We do however have private tour options that you can customize times to fit with your scheduled time in port. Contact u s for more information.

Do you have a restroom on board?

Yes! All of our vessels have on board bathrooms. We also have a private bathroom at your check in location to use before departure.

Are children allowed on your tours?

Different tours/destinations have different age limits. Our Rose Island tour is available for ages 1 and up. Our Exuma Swimming Pig Excursion is for ages 2 and up, and our Spanish Wells Pigs Excursion is for ages 2 and up.

Is this tour safe?

Yes! All of our boats have been fully inspected and approved by the governing bodies in The Bahamas. In addition, our crew is fully knowledgeable and certified in emergency services and first aid. All of our crew hold Captains Licenses and are STCW certified.

What if there is bad weather on the day of my tour?

We constantly assess weather conditions and in the event that we have to cancel a tour we do our best to get you on board for another day. If this is not possible, we will provide a full refund. Refunds will only be granted if we cancel the tour due to weather. The Captain has the final call on weather.

Will I get Sea Sick?

Due to the forward motion of our powerboats, very rarely will you get sea sick unless you suffer from extreme motion sickness. Normally slower fishing boats that roll side to side make you sick but our powerboats don't have that rolling motion. If you are worried about seasickness then we suggest you eat only a light meal and avoid alcohol before departure to help prevent symptoms. You may also want to consider anti-motion sickness tablets.

Are there restrictions on who can participate?

We offer high speed powerboat tours. We regret that our powerboat trips are not suitable for expectant mothers, infants or persons with back, knee or neck problems, heart problems or conditions affected by high speed travel. We recommend all participants to be physically fit. Participants must be able to understand basic English. If you may have difficulty boarding the boat, please let us know in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you.

What if I arrive late the day of my excursion?

Due to a strict schedule, and out of respect for other passengers, we are unable to hold the boat if you are late. No refund will be processed for late passengers.

Why does the Rose Island tour cost less than the Exuma Tour?

Location and distance. Due to the fact that we have less distance to cover, we burn less fuel and thus can offer a lower price. Exuma we have to travel over 160 miles round trip where as to Rose Island we only have to go a few miles away.

What to Bring?

Credit card used for your booking along with the ID to match, towels, swimwear, a light sweater and sunblock.
